Teacher Appreciation Week is May 2nd-6th!
Everyone has a favorite teacher. There was one and sometimes more than one teacher that made a profound difference in your life. Teachers teach because they love children. Teachers spend the school year looking for ways to connect with each child and help them learn. Teachers are one of the most important parts of our children’s lives and sometimes go unnoticed.
Teacher Appreciation Week is May 2nd through May 6th. It may be a little cliché but giving the teacher an apple is still one of the purest methods of saying thank you. There are other ways to say thank you as well:
- Give the teacher a gift certificate to a local restaurant
- Send the teacher flowers
- Write a note from the parents to the teacher saying thank you and expressing the special things that the teacher has done over the past year.
- Send that same note to the principal so that it goes into the teacher’s personnel file.
- Give the teacher a hug. There may not be anything more meaningful than a heartfelt hug.
We love teachers too in the Penguin Patch. If you ask any of us we can tell you a story about our favorite teacher. Like the 4th grade teacher, whose energy and enthusiasm suddenly made school fun and interesting. Mrs. Craft made a difference. Who was the teacher that made a difference in your life?
We hope that you will honor the teachers at your school this year during Teacher Appreciation Week. The Penguin Patch has free teacher gifts available when you sign up to host a Penguin Patch Holiday Shop in December. Teacher Appreciation should probably be longer than a week. It should probably happen year round. But next week let’s make sure that the teachers in your school know how much we appreciate them.
