5 Simple Steps to Come Back to YOU
August is here and that means it is time to go back to school. Amidst all the back to school chaos, you need to find some time for yourself. Between endless school supply and kid clothes shopping, it is important to take time to relax and come back to you.
Take a Walk
Get out of the house and take a walk. Walking outside will give you time to think about whatever you want and give you a little exercise. The sun is still shining, so it is the perfect time to get up off the couch, walk an interesting trail or your neighborhood, and appreciate your surroundings.
Explore Somewhere New
This goes hand-in-hand with taking a walk. It is nice to get outside, however, to take your walk a step further, pick a place you have never been and go exploring. Maybe there is a coffee shop a few miles away or a trail you have been wanting to walk, get out and do it! This will help you de-stress from your chaotic life and feel relaxed.
Take a Nap
Because you deserve it. Studies show that a short term nap of 20-30 minutes can increase your alertness and productivity without leaving you groggy or tired.
Read for Fun
It is hard to carve time out of you and your children’s busy schedule to find time to think, let alone ready. Amidst all of the back to school chaos, start reading that book you have been wanting to read since it came out. Give yourself a break and read for fun.
Treat Yourself
This is the most important thing you can do for yourself during your busy August days. Treat yourself. Whether you want to treat yourself to a nice meal, a much needed massage, a delectable dessert or even a few episodes of your favorite Netflix show. You have been working hard and deserve to give yourself a break.
