lunch box foods

Every new school year parents across the world have grand plans for packing the perfect lunch. You dream of cutting sandwiches into little butterflies, making “ants on a log” celery sticks and assembling rainbow fruit skewer, but lets be honest…this is always short lived. It’s funny how our enthusiasm balloon gets popped real fast by Adulting. We get busy running kids to soccer practice, volunteering for school activities and when the weekend does arrive, who wants to spend it in a long line at the grocery store every week? These yummy foods will still allow for creativity, but more importantly will help moms and dads to stress a little less.

1. FLOUR TORTILLAS
Make roll-ups, burritos, quesadilla or even a Nutella treat out of these versatile, circles of goodness.

2. MINI PANCAKES & WAFFLES
Frozen pancakes, waffles and French toast sticks can be warmed up quickly and having breakfast for lunch is always a treat!

3. CHEESE
String cheese and pre-cut cheese cubes are yummy with crackers, thrown in a salad or mixed with fruit for a balanced snack.

4. PIZZAS & EGG ROLLS
If your school offers a microwave; having a single serving frozen pizza or egg rolls can save the day when you’re running late.

5. HUMMUS
This option is full of protein, fiber and comes in many flavors. It can easily be packed in a lunch along with an ice pack. Throw in veggies or pita bread for dipping.
